A Statement on Inclusivity
It is my aim to make yoga and coaching as accessible as possible to all regardless of gender, ethnicity, sexuality, age, religion, culture, or socioeconomic status. Bodies of all sizes, shapes, and abilities are welcome here. We are an inclusive, diverse, and safe community.
We believe that black lives matter as well as those of the entire BIPOC community. We believe in equity and inclusivity of the LGBTQ+ community.
My promise to you is that my classes and sessions are judgment-free. As your teacher, I will hold the space for you wherever you are on your journey. I aim to make my classes as beginner-friendly as possible with options for all. The postures I am offering are simply options for you in your practice, so if something doesn’t feel right to you, I encourage you to ease off or come out of the pose. When possible, I offer various modifications as needed.
If finances are an issue for you, please speak with me about options. If you are interested in coaching or yoga, I offer one pro-bono session per month, first come first served. Please reach out for more information.
If you are still questioning whether this is the right community for you, please do not hesitate to send me an email with your questions or concerns.
Yoga
As a yoga practitioner of many different styles for twenty years now, I mix various styles of yoga into my sessions. I enjoy fun, energetic vinyasa flow, but I also love to take it down a notch and really focus on the breath in a slower, more hatha-based approach. For me, it depends on my current mood! This is one of the benefits of private sessions - we can tailor it to exactly what YOU need in your life right now. I am a bit of an anatomy nerd, so proper technique is incredibly important to me. This is another benefit to working one-to-one, especially if you are a beginner and working towards developing your practice - we can make sure that you have the foundations needed to begin to deepen your practice. Patanjali describes yoga as “the progressive quieting of the fluctuations of the mind”. In a world where we are running at 90 miles per hour and giving so much of ourselves to others, it’s time to give something back to yourself and find that place of calm and contentment in your life.
